SLS Exhibition of Coal Carrying Model Railway Day

The Stephenson Locomotive Society is hosting the much anticipated and popular Coal Carrying Model Railways Exhibition which returns to the Mining Institute on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June 2018. The 2-day free event will occupy the rooms of Neville Hall where visitors will be able to see an impressive selection of layouts as well as meet the makers!

Kepier Colliery - the acclaimed ‘00’ gauge layout by John Cook.

St. George’s Dock - ‘0’ gauge riverside scene by Alan Gray.

Croft Depot - ‘P4’ scale S & D coal drops by Duncan Wilcock.

Wansbeck Road - 2mm scale. A Co. Durham Colliery Village Station by Mick Simpson.

Burnard’s Drift at Rainton Colliery - ‘00’ gauge. The late Jack Burnard’s last project completed and presented by Neil Glencross & Melvin Heslop.

Brown’s Coal Yard - ‘N’ gauge landsale depot by Joe Brown.

Marine Park Yard - ‘00’ gauge Tyneside exchange yard created by Ian Blenkinsopp and owned by Les Paul.

Blyth - ‘N’ gauge a work in progress recreating a long lost railway location by Ed Orwin.

Plus 16mm Narrow Gauge Live Steam by Colin Laidler, NEIMME.
